GREENVILLE, Miss. — Delta Center Stage will present the musical revue “Bubbling Brown Sugar” Oct. 1–4 in Greenville.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with a 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinee.

Written by Loften Mitchell and developed from a concept by Rosetta LeNoire, the production celebrates the music and nightlife of Harlem during the 1920s and 1930s. Its score draws from standards associated with artists including Duke Ellington, Eubie Blake and Fats Waller.

The revue uses music, dance and period settings to revisit venues and traditions associated with the Harlem Renaissance. The original production later reached Broadway, London’s West End and touring stages in the United States and Europe.

Adult admission for the Greenville production is $25. Tickets for students and children are $15.

Tickets are available through Delta Center Stage’s online ticket booth, the E.E. Bass office and The Shoppes on South Main. Special-arrangement inquiries may be directed to Executive Director Wade Chambers at 662-378-9849.

The four-day production adds another performing-arts offering to Greenville’s fall cultural calendar while giving local audiences an opportunity to experience music from an influential period in American theater and Black cultural history.
